A jammed finger generally refers to a strain or sprain on any of the three joints on our fingers.
Incidences of jammed fingers are quite common in sports, especially in contact sports, where impact injury could occur.
Common symptoms of jammed fingers include; pain, tenderness to touch, loss of range of motion, stiffness, swelling, and inflammation.
A jammed finger can be treated at home if it is not accompanied with a fracture. That is why it is a good idea to have an x-ray carried out on the finger to completely rule out the possibility of a fracture.
However, if there is a fracture, the pain and swelling could be much more severe and the healing time, of the jammed finger, would be longer.
Here are some tips and good practices, to consider, when dealing with jammed fingers;
